Royalty Turf’s synthetic turf is made from soft rubber crumbs (silica). It is excellent for play areas where children or animals might be playing. Non-abrasive and non-allergenic, it is much tougher than real grass and requires very little maintenance.

Safety of Artificial Grass for Playgrounds

Royalty Turf’s synthetic grass is a perfect combination of the most advanced technologies in the field of natural grass and artificial turf. It meets the American Standard Testing Methods (ASTM) standards and can provide excellent shock absorption.

The product is made of 4 components – turf, grass reinforcement, rubber and infill. The rubber lies just below the grass surface, in contact with the ground. This is absolutely safe for children and pets and is a full-scale and complete alternative to natural grass for playgrounds.

Artificial turf with a thickness of 3.3-4.3″ achieves a fall height safety factor of seven feet, which is recommended for most residential and commercial playgrounds.

Cost of Artificial Grass for Playgrounds

The one-time installation cost of artificial turf playground flooring may seem a little high on the pocket, but the lifetime cost of synthetic grass is lower than the costs associated with maintaining natural grass and soil for years.

Quality & Maintenance of Synthetic Turf as a Playground Surface

Playground turf maintenance is pretty easy compared to real grass. You may need to spray for mites every few years. Otherwise, no watering, mowing, harmful pesticides, or fertilizer is needed. If play area turf needs repair, you don’t need to replace the entire turf. Simply cut out the damaged turf and replace it.

Its low maintenance design means the area requires less upkeep than natural grass. Artificial turf playgrounds need an occasional rinse-off, but water drains well off its surface.
